Hello! Happy bike to school day. Wow, it was great to see all of our students being so active today.
Another exciting building in minecraft today. Students continued to build the downtown core. The core is starting to take shape. Please remember that we have a field trip to the mayor's expo tomorrow. We do have two presentations that we'll be attending, but the rest of the day we'll be walking along the bow river in the east village. We're going to explore where calgary first originated, Fort Calgary. Please remember to dress for the weather. See you tomorrow! Please remember to cancel your fun lunch for next wednesday, as we are on another downtown field trip. A note from Mrs. Dennill This is a gentle reminder for grades 4-6 that May 31 (Tuesday) will be the last day for testing. Students have been given the opportunity to test during class time and at noon and after school. Students have earned belts for: white, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue, red, brown and black (challenge). Great Job!! Students will also be given a written test and have reviewed this information during class times. A note from Ms. Bezugley re: Beacon Hill School in Fort McMurray The families of Beacon Hill School in Fort McMurray have lost everything. Their principal, Garrett Tebay and her librarian, have asked for our support. They would like to help their families rebuild their home libraries. Prince of Wales can help!! Clean out your bookshelves, order some new books from Scholastic or stop by your local bookstore. Please drop off NEW or Gently Used books at the school. Mrs. Tebay will pick them up when she is in Calgary and deliver them. Thank you for your help! __________________________________________________ Link for PoWer Hour Students (Term 2): https://studio.code.org/sections/LIDSBR __________________________________________________ Reminders:
What an amazing field trip to the downtown core. Thank you to our parent volunteers for being our walking guides today - without you, these trips don't happen. We had the opportunity to explore our historical buildings, as well as City Hall. We'll take in what we saw today and incorporate it into our Minecraft world.
No School tomorrow! Have a great weekend. Please remember to cancel your fun lunch for next wednesday, as we are on another downtown field trip. WOW, JUNE ALREADY. TODAY WE CONTINUED TO WORK IN OUR MINECRAFT WORLD OF DOWNTOWN CALGARY. TOMORROW WE'LL SEE IF OUR PERCEPTION OF OUR BUILDINGS REALLY MATCH REALITY, SINCE WE'LL BE VISITING OUR CHOSEN HISTORICAL AND CURRENT BUILDING.
WE ALSO WORKED A BIT ON DIVISION THIS MORNING, WHICH WILL LEAD INTO FRACTIONS NEXT WEEK. WE CONTINUED TO READ WONDER, AND ARE NOW READING FROM VIA'S POINT OF VIEW, NOT AUGGIE'S. STILL NO "REAL" NAME FOR VIA YET, THOUGH. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR FIELD TRIP FORMS TOMORROW... SEE YOU THEN!
