Hello! This morning, we continued with our book clubs. Mr. V is reading and recording the books. Some of the books have been posted online, and others will be posted today. They are in D2L under Content and Language Arts.
We studied our shadows throughout the day, beginning in the morning and ending just before the end of school. We noticed a few interesting things, like that our shadows changed size and direction throughout the day. Stay tuned for more on this tomorrow. In the afternoon, we began talking about our new elders project. Students have been asked to bring in something that represents learning that they have acquired from their elder(s). students are asked to bring photographs of their grandparents or others they consider to be their Elders. Students can gather pictures of grandparents and Elders as children, young adults or as older people. Each student will have a space on a bulletin board where they can post their pictures. Students may also post anything that symbolizes this person to them. For example, if the Elder plays card games with the student, he or she could put a playing card on the wall. Some other examples of connections to our elders is teaching how to knit and baking special recipes. Right now, we are focusing on teachings from our elders, rather than physical artifacts that our elders possess. Homework:
